For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to help people improve the way they work and learn and overcome challenges that hold them back.
I helped younger children to read when I was at Primary School and led local youth programmes as a teenager. My continued interest in human behaviour and potential led me to a Psychology degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
During my twelve years as a Primary School Teacher and Senior Management Team member, I facilitated coaching, training and professional development for staff teams.
As a Performance Manager, I worked extensively on identifying goals and targets for pupil and staff performance and worked strategically to implement these across schools.
During my ‘Outreach’ role as a specialist Teacher of children with Special Educational Needs, I delivered training and shared strategies, resources and support to families and staff working with children with Special Educational Needs in primary schools across Brighton and Hove.
I took a career break to focus on the best job in the world – motherhood. When the time came to return to work, I faced a career crossroads. I wanted to change career and retrain. I wanted to find passion and fulfilment in my professional life, while balancing it with being a Mum.
I wanted to utilise the skills and experience gained from my teaching career and continue to help others overcome challenges and achieve success. I knew I had found the perfect fit when I retrained as a Coach and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
I achieved an accredited Diploma in Performance Coaching and NLP, after which I proudly set up my own coaching business: Heads-up Coaching.
I quickly learnt the importance of clarity and focus and passionately support business owners to acquire these essential skills and tools for their next steps. I developed 6 business coaching modules to enable business owners to work ON their business, so they can do what they do best and grow a business which thrives.
