10 top tips to boost your productivity and nurture your wellbeing

Posted on 3 November, 2025 by Lyndsey Segal in Business Coaching, Professional Coaching

In today’s fast-paced world, being productive and nurturing your wellbeing aren’t just nice-to-haves. They are essential in creating a fulfilling and balanced life.

When you are mentally, emotionally and physically healthy, you are more focused, creative and resilient.

You are also more likely to make better decisions, solve problems and stay engaged.

In workplaces, integrating wellbeing into the way in which you work helps to foster psychological safety, empathy and trust.

Below, I share my 10 top tips to help you stay productive while nurturing your wellbeing.

1. Create ‘me’ time

This is time that is just yours, to do what you want with – whether that is being in nature, reading a book or listening to music.

‘Me’ time helps you create distance from work and to recharge your batteries.

‘Me’ time can also be in the work environment, where you set boundaries for when you are available and when you are not available, whether that be for meetings, email or during deep work.

This will help you to tackle your important tasks and to-dos without interruptions.

2. Move Your Body

Physical movement boosts physical energy as well as mental clarity.

Incorporating exercise into your daily routine, whether it’s a walk during lunch or a jog after work, will help you to stay active and to destress.

Doing some simple stretches at your desk, especially in between meetings or tasks can help you to reset and refocus.

3. Take breaks

Breaks help to:

  • Restore focus and attention
  • Consolidate memory and learning
  • Boost creativity and productivity
  • Reduce stress

Getting outside for fresh air, exercise and a change of scenery does wonders for your physical and mental health.

Remember to take regular breaks away from your screen and get away from your desk at lunchtime.

Schedule breaks in your calendar, just like you would a meeting or appointment.

4. Create boundaries

The 4 Ds (Do, Delegate, Defer, Delete) are a reminder that you don’t need to do it all (right now) and to prioritise your tasks and to-dos.

You can create boundaries by communicating your availability, email response time and the days/hours that you work.

Saying no is a way of flexing your boundaries. When you say no to something, you are saying yes to something or someone else.

5. Celebrate wins and successes

Taking time to acknowledge yours and your team members’ achievements and successes will help to boost morale.

This could be through a verbal ‘thank you and well done’, rewards or opportunities to celebrate as a team.

6. Practise mindfulness

Practising mindfulness helps you to feel immersed in the present moment and bring the body and mind back into balance. This can be through singing, dancing, gardening, running, sitting in silence or going for a run – whatever works for you.

7. Create wellbeing check-ins

Creating opportunities to check in with your and your team’s wellbeing helps to make it part of a regular conversation.

You could start a meeting or a weekly huddle with an emoji or a sound that expresses how you are feeling.

Journaling is a wonderful way to reflect on your wellbeing and what you might need some more time and space for.

8. Stay hydrated and well nourished

Eating a balanced diet filled with brain-friendly foods and healthy snacks will keep your energy levels topped up.

Keep a water bottle on your desk or where you work to help stay hydrated. This is especially important when spending a lot of time on a screen.

9. Reflect and reset daily/weekly

End your day or week with a few quick questions:

  • What went well today/this week?
  • What has been the biggest challenge? What did I do to navigate this or what help do I need?
  • What am I looking forward to about tomorrow/next week?
  • What are my top three priorities for tomorrow/next week?

10. Maintain a tidy and organised work environment

A calming and organised work environment will help to reduce stress and enhances focus.

Remove anything that creates visual clutter or distractions from your desk or workspace.

Minimise the number of tabs and folders on your desktop or phone to help focus on your current project or task.

Integrating productivity and wellbeing will help you to create a healthy work-life balance and enable you to live and work more happily, healthily and sustainably.
