How clear is your business message?

Posted on 1 October, 2019 by Lyndsey Segal in Business Coaching

We live in a world bombarded by messages from advertising, marketing, social media and sales. It is important, now more than ever, for businesses to be crystal clear in their message – if they are to be heard above the noise.

To communicate your business message effectively, the first step is to gain clarity on your business offering or USP (unique selling point). Then you can communicate it clearly, confidently and consistently to your target audience.

To help gain clarity, it is helpful to think of the what, who, where, how and why of your business.

  • What is your product or service and what solution(s) does it provide to your clients/customers’ problems?
  • Who is your product or service aimed at?
  • Where can you find your target audience – in person and online?
  • How does your product or service differentiate from your competitors?
  • Why do you do what you do?

The answers to these questions will help to form your elevator pitch. This is one of your business’s greatest assets – helping you to quickly communicate your value. It also helps inform the content of your website, social media and marketing strategy.

People buy the products & services that are communicated and therefore understood quickly. A crystal-clear business message will help you to communicate effectively to your clients and customers and grow your business.
